What does everyone think if I said that I knew someone with a mini that had approx 690hp at the flywheel     (apparently no joke) and that is with major work done on the engine and he is running stage 4 NOS so I think that he is shttiing beacase he doesn't have a turbo or supercharger on it ..........yet but I know that he has got a greddy turbo ready to put on......

so what are peoples thoughts on this

C'mon Kev isn't that a bit harsh? He said approx, and it is at the flywheel, not the wheels :D

That is exactly what I thought but I didn't say anything cause I didn't want to offend him but I think that he is BS-ing also but hey cant be sure till you see it go and apparentley it hasn't even been clocked on the standing quarter yet but with a massive amount of power like that it would be almost less then a 1:1 power to weight ratio

Pat

Never out of an A series will that happen.
Besides, you'd strip 1st gear the first time you went for a drag.

Yeah major bs.

low'n blown said that his engine tuners worked out that they had to externally brace the A-series block to get to produce 204BHP at the flywheel. The block was flexing causing blow-by.

Sorry Pat............ internet heresay mate.........

Until he gets it finished and proves it with dyno sheet and time slips (which by the way won't happen cos he'll never ever get the power through the front wheels) i call BS with the others.

please tell me he has a v8 in the engine bay,,,, if not and he thinks by adding NOS to a mini motor he is going to make more then 200hp@fly then you should have just laughed in his face.

What the hell is stage 4 nos anyway, he is either running 40hp, 50hp, 75hp, 100hp and so on, even if he straped 500hp nos jets on it it wouldnt get close to 690hp...

Please go back and tell him that his mini is a slug from me :D

690 horses??? Dude, a Porsche GT3 with flat 3.6litre 6, aircooled, all alloy block and doesn't do that much! (383hp @7500rpm) add NOS to that and it may get close to 500 horses but that's it.

I doubt that any A series can get much better than the Japanese green Delta machine which is based on a 1275 block with custom everything (and I mean everything) and does a massive 210hp and that's running a custom built bottom end so it won't strip the gears (Mini World February 2005).

Go tell him *coughbullshitcough* I think you heard wrong, he meant 69hp  Esp since he has not put in a turbo yet

drop a mini from high enough and it'd start pulling those sort of figures!
