Post subject: | Rebuiling Twin Carbys in Brisbane |
I have been looking for a Mini forum site for a look time. I am a prode owner of a morris 850, with a 998 in it and she runs like a dream. I have an old set of 1 1/4 twin carbys and I am looking for someone good to rebuild them for me and fit them to my Brick? (in Brisbane) Any ideas ![]() |

WARNING: do most repairs yourself. Mini are very expensive to own, more of an enthusiest car really. Repairs generally take a while longer to do than a normal car so taking it to a shop can cost you an arm and a leg. |

Dont get me wrong TK, i just thought that because of the nature of the su's, it would be worth getting the rebuild done right the first time and then me and my uncle can fit then and tune em. ![]() |

If you wanted to give it a go yourself, get a copy of the miniworld magazines from earlier this year, which had a 2 or 3 part pictorial guide on how to rebuild the twin su setup. Or get a good mini manual and read through it's dissasembly and reassembly steps. If you find after reading it all through, with the carbs in front of you for reference, that it all seems too hard, get it done right (by a pro) That being said, if you get Ken (or an equivalent pro) to do it at least you'll KNOW that they were rebuilt well, and you can then worry about the rest of the package.
