Hi All
Is there any one out there interested in renting a Group N Mini for race meetings? you will need a cams licence or a AASA licence depending on the type of meeting you run at.

GR, Danny & I were talking about this.

We went down this road many years ago....

* How much for a weekend...?
* If bent do you own it....?
* Can you fix body work yourself...?
* If the engine is damaged, valve springs used as
brake pads who pays for that....?
* Brake a crank.....?
* Do you pay a deposit on top of lease..?

Can get tricky.

I like the idea but sounds like a can of worms GR. How do you prove if it was over revved if it lets go. Or if something lets go that was already on it's way out? Yikes..

Hi All
Yes there would be a contract you bend the car you pay for the repairs, same as any other rent a car (formula ford, V8 supa cars, etc) we have these little boxes in the car that tells us every thing that goes on, it does not lie.
There would be training on the Friday before the meeting, your not going to put some dick head in the that thinks he's a world beater, group N minis are fast you do the wrong thing and they will bite you, driving on a race track is nothing like racing your mate down to mackers , you have cars around doing 100 mph + in very close company specially on the first lap.
A little common sense has to be used the price would be around $1500, the car is a very good car handling wise with a strong engine.
There's no can of worms it's just a chance for some one to experience a group N race car, they can do training days before they go racing to get the hang of driving one of these little beasts, don't be so negative about the idea just wanting to see if there is any interest out there,
Graham Russell

Sounds great! As much as I would love to, I will probably never be able to afford to own and race a mini, this would be the only way to go. Having said that, it is not something I could afford at the moment whilst doing my restoration but I am sure there would be people keen to do it. Imagine spending thousands on a race car only to find its not for you once on the track. This would be a great way to get into it and see what you think.

If I'm carrying on like a pork-chop, I'm having a great time.

If I go very quiet there's a very good chance I broke something.

Why would you all be so negative about it?

Its not your race car and Graham is certainly not new to the game. If he would like to offer the car for rent, then let him deal with the 'can of worms' you are all woried about.

Nice idea Graham - I hope someone takes you up on it and good luck.

The probelm for me is that it would cost more, cause I would want my own for the road after.

Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd comment here because there seems to be some negativity on this generous idea from Graham,

GR has a seriously great idea here and his intentions are as you'd expect good. It's not suitable for everyone here but for people interested:-

Basically Graham, is interested in getting new people suitable for Group N mini racing and more Group N minis on the track.

This opportunity to 'lease a Group N mini race car' is a great option which allows you to kind of put your foot in the water before before leaping in!!

Whilst there are naturally some other factors to consider and discuss, and the arrangement must be mutually acceptable, I think this would really suit someone who is interested in taking some basic Motorsport experience up to a new level.

Graham is flexible with what can be provided and cost but essentially is looking to lease a mini race car which I know is highly competitive.

I think if you are serious you should definitely contact GR because these opportunities are not often available.

Cheers guys :D

I would definitely be interested in hot laps. It would be interesting to compare the experience of racing a go kart to racing a mini.
