Ok so im sure this topic has been flogged to death but i dont care.
So i need a new exhaust from the bottom of the extracter back.
I think its current got a 1 and 3/4 inch pipe and it had a straight through hotdog type muffler.
Sounds cool but there are leaks at the join from extactor and few holes on muffler.
So the car is a Cooper S and has twin 1.5 SU's and a lumpy cam and
Its had the head ported and polished.
So what should be the best for sound and performance?
I want to know if 2 or 1 3/4 pipe is better? as well as muffler.
so please comment away.
:D :D

stick to a 1 3/4"

you might loose a bit of power if you go to 2"

you buy it at karcraft 9737 9944 10 eggerton st silverwater
price round 12 months ago for the rc 40 was 168.30 and the link pipe was 23.38 could have gone up or down depends
then you can either fit it yourself or take it to a muffler place
makka
could not imagine it would be over 80 bucks to fit

cheers makka
ill look into it.
I hope it sounds as good as the one i had before it started to get a bit of rust.
Took the car for a test run today after forking out some large dollars to get
brakes, drive shaft seals, suspension bushes and clutch sorted.
It drove beautiful and all i need is the exhaust and ready for rego.
Just cant afford it till after i get back from greece in 2 months well i can save for it after
greece.
Its been an expensive exersize and im going to have to get it painted soon too.
oh well

In my experience most places that'll build you an exhaust system will charge no less than $200 anyway. And by all accounts RC40 seems to perform the best on a mini doesn't it?

I run an RC40 on Ha-Ha (with Maniflow LCB) and a Lukey on Barney (with Perry 3-1). Both work well. Lukey is LOUDER though (it's a short one).
BTW an RC40 is really just a straight-through muffler, with an expansion chamber at one end.....

ps if you really want a S/S RC40, I think it's called an RC50 now. And in UK you can get straight centre exit if you want.

If I was buying NEW, I would get a 1.75" pipe, but my ass is tight and I bought a second hand 2" system.

It's LOUD and OBNOXIOUS......but I like it!
