G'day guys and gals I have a question. I have an 1100 s motor (1275) with only one breather on the rocker cover and it has blown through the timing chain cover and pouring out oil like litres within 70km......what Audra this and how can this be fixed? The seal was only on with gasket silicone but it wasn't leaking. So if I put a paper gasket on will it blow it out again? It also blows out condensation on cold morning anyone know why this is???

I'd start with the proper gasket.

I was thinking that TK I have just had a lot of bad experience with leaking timing chain covers and thought that was a sure way to ensure it wouldn't leak (I know it's rough) should I just try the gasket or gasket and a little bit of gasket silicone?

If you have a deeper problem IE: Sump Pressure , it will find the weak point for a leak .

Clean surfaces properly , use paper gasket with silicone either side will be fine and make sure the cover is flat and hasn't been warped.

I also have an 1100S with only one breather from the rocker cover with a hose attached dangling down the back of the engine to atmosphere.
There are absolutely no engine oil leaks.
What is causing the pressurisation that then doesn't escape through the rocker cover vent but forces oil out through the timing cover seal :|

Original for an 1100S motor.
