Got everything hooked up again and whee no start.

checked leads 1,4,3,2 (does it matter which plug #1 goes into on the cap so long as they are in the correct order? Also checked the direction the rotor spins and plugs are currently hooked up in the correct order and direction).
Getting a spark at the plugs.
Getting fuel pumping through the inlet pipe at the carby.
I've been trying to get it going since about noon, I pulled the plugs out and they are dry as a bone still so no fuel is getting to them.

I've read up and some threads say try pouring some fuel into the carby and seeing if that does anything? Am I pouring a bit into the air intake bit or somewhere else?

He's only been sitting there a month since I last started it .

Check your rotor is not put in at 180 degrees out. It WILL fit wrong way around if you push a bit. If in properly should just slide in with very little effort. Have been caught with that one before.

Yes it does matter - makes quite a bit of difference in fact

If #1 lead is at spark on the Dizzy and attached to #1 plug on the block, what do we get? - #1 piston is near tdc and we have a full load of compressed fuel - bang!

If #1 lead is at spark on the dizzy but attached to #2 plug on the block, what do we get? - #2 piston is near the bottom of it's stroke and we have no compression or fuel in there at the moment - bang? - I don't think so!

With putting fuel into the carbies, if you have SUs - take off the filters and put about 10ml straight down the guts of each carbie and give it a go. If it starts, runs ruff for 5sec and cuts out - keep trying for about 5-7 go's and it should be o.k. . If that fails, check the fuel sender. I have chopped mine by accident before while taking out other wires
