Post subject: | Chassis number |
Hi all, I realise this question has been asked before, but in different context and I can't quite find what I'm after. Car is a 65 Morris deluxe (I think) the ID tag on the firewall is as follows: Type: YMA2S2 Car No: 10994 Engine No: 9YA/Ta/H 11486 Then on the radiator shroud the following is stamped: 205 10504 however this is a little unclear, I'm kind of guessing. Basically I'd like to know what the chassis number is so I can do a PPSR check (REVS check) but being an old car, I don't know what number to type into the search feature or even if it will work. Any help would be great. |

Your chassis number is 10994 and is stamped under the ID plate into the firewall bulkhead. Now here is the kicker. Some states like Tassy and SA registered them using the engine number. Other states have been known to stuff up and use the radiator shroud body build number. I have also seen them use the full car type code YMA2S2 xxxx as well. Its pretty much up to who inspects it and what bible they use to tell them where to look. Good luck |

My Deluxe chassis number is 10841 which is 153 before yours. Mine was built November 65 and first registered in Feb/Mar 1966. It has always been referred to as a 66 Deluxe. So there is a reasonable chance yours will sneak into Nov/Dec build date. When I got mine reregistered recently, Vic Roads used the Car No. as stamped on the ID plate and verified with the number stamped into the firewall bulkhead under the ID plate. This is the correct chassis number, not YMA2S2 or the numbers on the radiator shroud. Hope this helps. |
