A great weekend of historic racing, thanks HRCC for a great winter meet and thanks to Warwick for putting on immaculate weather. Ken and Jill Nelson played gracious hosts as always and it was a shame that car 18 didn't quite make it to the all mini race this year, but i am sure there are many more years of racing as Ken and Jill begin to plot the second half of their racing careers.

Sadly QLDers, state of origin isn't the only arena where NSW are fighting fit. A super complement of NSW competitors, a fellow racer from ACT and a spritely Victorian racer, made sure the grid positions were hard fought for the large qld contingent.

Graham Russell and Matt Russell led proceedings with Graham lowering the Group nc ( under 2 litre))lap records and Matt Russell snaring the Group Nb record. The Whole Russell Engineering fleet were class leading, but that didn't stop the others from putting in excellent performances. There were a fist full of competitors diving into the 1.32's which was lap record territory prior to this meet ( For Group Nb) and then going faster again. Great to see some new and returning faces in the Historic arena.

There was unfortunately a bit of pushing and shoving, which seems almost mandatory when these interstate rivalries exist, but thankfully it was limited to the rush for the lunchtime sausage sizzle, and all was resolved by the time the tomato sauce was passed around. (joking of course)

A very good weekend indeed. Cheers D
