I have just installed a hydraulic handbrake on my Moke. It runs a single master cylinder.I have put an adjustable pressure limiter between the master cylinder and the handbrake and removed the pressure limiter from the rear. Its neat, everything works, but I can't get the really firm brake pedal it had before.
Any ideas?

that's normal - The master cylinder has another set of seals and linkages to pressurise before it gets to the brake pistons

Pull up on the handbrake and test the brake pedal, if it's firm like before you installed the hydraulic handbrake, then that's it

I had a similar problem. It ended up being air trapped in the system even though it really did not feel like air.
I had to bleed it by pulling the hyd. hand brake lever in then use the foot brake to 'pump' the hand brake forward while holding slight pressure on it. So basically don't let the hand brake return under it's own, use the foot brake to push it forward.
Beware that this uses heaps more fluid than may be expected and it's easy to drain the master and end up with air back in just when you are done, I know!
This method gave me back my nice firm pedal. Hope this makes sense, it's a bit hard to communiacte in writing!
