Were any other Mini's identified by the passenger side bonnet gutter numbers or is this just peculiar to Cooper S's?

Well my 1970 Matic has numbers in the gutter. So not just Cooper S.
Can't remember what they were as we repainted it years ago.

When they went to the MK2 range the YDO body codes were stamped in the gutter above the wiper motor. The Code for the Cooper S was 2/06 and the Mini K was 2/05. The MK2 matic used the same 2/05 body code with an A stamped after it. The body code stamping moved to the firewall behind the master cylinders around May 1970.

Thanks gtogreen1969. That confirms for me that I have a genuine Cooper S. My gutter stamp is *** 2/06 (I have substituted *** for my number) but is it an early Mk2?
