I've decided to sell my mini after a lot of in depth thinking. Just after thoughts on it registration wise when selling. We now live in NSW but the car is still registered in QLD as we have an address there as well. Should I sell it with QLD rego, trasfer it to NSW, or just sell it unregistered. I was going to put it on something like fleebay of bumtree, so if say someone from victoria bought it, the rego would be no good to them anyway.
I need to do a few finishing jobs as well, minor cosmetic stuff, but absolutely no time to do it. Do i make the time or just note that in add.
I honestly thought I'd keep it forever ( after spending so much time/money on it) but since the other half has no interest in it, I don't really use it.

You have been deep thinking!

Just sell it if you have to...your Bill of Sale should list all its rego details and it won't matter if the buyer is from San Remo Italy or San Remo NSW or Victoria! Even if it runs out or rego, it still has a basic value...just adds a degree of difficulty to the buyer to get it registered (not your worry).

Do some more deep thinking...and think about putting it to one side until you can get tuit! :idea: :D

leave it registered where it is so that the new buyer can test drive it - I just bought an unregistered car (non-mini) for easily $1000 less than the owner would have got if buyers had been able to take it for a decent drive.

I also occasionally do pre-purchase inspections for interstate buyers (VIP automotive solutions) and I'm not allowed to test drive a car if it's not registered

that's not the point Mick... if you were looking for a car to buy, would you want to pay for a permit just to test drive it? if you were selling a car, would you want to pay for a permit every time someone wanted to buy it?

Its an option...you could say to the seller..."like your car, but can't see myself paying that price without a drive"...then..."can you get a permit for it"

Permit runs for weeks, so hopefully the deal could be done...you wouldn't do it for every tyre kicker that came along but why not for a serious buyer where serious money is involved? For $40 or whatever, why not comply and not be accused of nickel and dime-ing :D

Might be passing thru next Easter...would be good to catch up, Motel recommendations appreciated, rather than the old Rose City or Top of the Town Benalla :!: :shock: :lol:

It's still got three months rego, just wasn't keen on paying another lot , got enough rego's already. :-)
