Whats the best way to hold down the mini bonnet.....

Use the orignal...

Use the original and straps

Or use clips like Brad has on his starlet mini and doing away with the old set-up..(Im leaning towards this one)

I'm guessing its all down to personal prefference....i mean they order they are listed would probally be the order of effectiveness from least to most, but it depends if you wanna put holes in your bonnett?

i have thought this over many times but came up with the best idea which doesnt created holes in the bonnet.
what i have used is an old small belt (brown/tan colour) which ties aroun the top of my grill then inside my bonnet, its hard to explain but thats what i have done.
its cheap, doesnt damage your bonnet and best of all keeps your bonnet locked down!

Use the original and replace the worn parts and fit new springs.

I would prefer a black belt myself
but that only personal preference :P
Did you choose brown/tan because of its inherent strength :?:
or for some other reason :?: :P :P

I gather you are just looping the belt through the bonnet bracing underneath then around the top of the grill....yeah...good extra insurance :D

yeah colour didnt really bother me at the time thats all i had.
yeah thats exactly what i have done, well put!
the reason i did this because the latch inside has broken off, just need to weld it on again, but dont want my paint job to bubble! so thats whats only stopping me atm.
