Hi,

My wipers don't return to the bottom of the windscreen at rest. I know the motors have a limit switch etc in the gearbox, but do they all? In other words, maybe mine (on a MkII) is just old before they invented such luxuries.

Anyway, I've got a clubman unit on the way to me so I recondition that and pop it in anyway.

Just wanted to know for future reference and to become a mini bore (i.e. someone who's just a little boring  )

Early MK1s weren't self parking - at least mine wasn't in the 60's. Haven't had power to my current MK1 to see if it's any different.

Oz Morris 850 wipers didn't self-park, U parked 'em yourself.. 8)
Cooper 997 was the first to have parking ones, as did Mini Deluxe and all the later ones.

Cheers all - I'm justified in my decision to go to bed rather than sit up and rebuild the wiper motor :)
