In 1972, Wheels magazine test drove a Clubman GT for an extended road test and wrote up their experiences over a number of issues. The current owners of Wheels have set up an index of articles each issue. Unfortunately they don't have every month digitised - maybe you have to pay for that. Check out this site: http://arc.bauer.x-cago.net/vw/edition. ... 8-19720501 I read these articles at the time and they prompted me to buy Hella Quartz-Halogen headlight inserts and ROH Contesta alloy wheels for my mini! And they say advertising doesn't work.... |

I read them too, then went out and put a Webasto sunroof, Clubman tail lights and Clubman dash and heater into my MK 2 Cooper S (as one tended to do these sort of things in the early 70s). They're all still in there. |

They're all still in there. Clubby taillights must have been all the rage back then. This 1970 ex police S was wearing them in 1974. Attachment: Little Big Horn Car GYS662.jpg
