Hey fellas. My mate has a 1 3/4 hiff carby that is currently on
his GT. He has had this carby since new and had never been out
of the box since his daad bought it back in the 80's. it has only been on
his car for a little bit (like 6months) he is putting a webber on it
and im going to buy it.

Have no idea what it would be worth (price new?) what would something
like that be worth??

Well are we talking mates rates or what? It's worth what you are willing to pay and what he is willing to part with it for

Seriously... Josh bought a Dellorto 45 for $50 with manifold and linkages. Some others paid well over $400 for the same thing. Need I say more?

yeah its mates rates. I dont want to rip him off, and he wants me to
have it for a reasonable price. I have not seen the sort of $$ these things
are going for. so just wanted a figure to work around

I would give him $50-100 for it. Depending how mates rates he thinks mates rates is. It should also be followed by a 6 pack of his favourite.
I bought a HIF44 for $50 and it jst needs a kit thru it, so anymore than $100 is being generous i think. Saying that other may disagree.
Cheers

Aaron

Ring Northern Mini Parts in Melbourne ( 03 9458 2111 ) to get a ball park figure on what they sell retail.

I paid $200 for for a brand new HIF44 1 3/4" carb.

No manifold and no filter.

Yet to go on the car though :(
