I was googling, as you do, and come across some of these photo's of Mini prototypes from back in the day.

Now this one is interesting, because it has the door handles that our Clubbies (and LATE Mini K's) have.

The comment on the last photo is significant. As almost all new;y developed cars are getting 5 star NCAP safety ratings, cars are scoring higher for fewer injuries to pedestrians. The newest Honda have more flexible bonnets and engine components far enough away to enable people hit by Hondas ( :wink: ) to bounce harmlessly away and carry on walking.

In other words, British Leyland were onto something in spite of it being as ugly as a bucket of bums. Thank god the rise of militant unionism put paid to any further success of the company.

I don't mind the four door version.... hmmmm, that would save my back putting my little boy in the back of the mini..... hmmmm, i wonder?! :D
