So i 'blew' a 95.6dB reading today. Tested with a very high quality meter. So yeah... i'm screwed in that sense if Regency check that, too. Just thought i'd make an extra topic so everyone can boast with their figures. Oh, and thats with LCB Extractors and a single box RC40. Hot stuff. Tell me yours. ![]() |

What is the legal limit in SA for pre 80's cars???? I thought it was 96dB ![]() edit* yeah found it.. Quote: The stationary noise level of a car type vehicle, or motor bike or trike, must not exceed:
(a) for a car type vehicle built after 1982 - 90 dB(A); or (b) for another car type vehicle - 96 dB(A) You're safe. |

I am sure Doc's dellorto is at least 10 db above his exhaust ![]() ![]() I practically can't hear my exhaust (3in1, single box RC40) over the dellorto. Hence why i removed my stereo, can't hear it anyway ![]() 96db is the limit? gee I thought it would be tougher than that in Nazi SA ![]() ![]() |

Even if he was just over the limit, surely the old steel wool stuffed up the tail pipe would fix that? ![]() |

![]() that or rolled up chicken wire should help. Many years back had some problems with the car being too loud at Amaroo Park (the Fun Nazis at it again) and being way over the limit. Managed to fix it by stuffing some rolled up chicken wire up the exhaust (far enough up so the scrutineers don't see it). |
