Post subject: | which extractors for an 1100? |
Hi Guys. I have an 1100 with a 12G295 head. twin 1 1/4 su's. What sort of extractors should I get? Keeping in mind I may one day want to supercharge and or get an 1275 going? Is there a type of extractor that can handle all those applications? Do I put the extractors on before I drop the engine in. I would imagine they are hard to get on once the engine is in...But I am also concerned that the engine would be hard to get in if there are large extractors hanging off the back. I assume heads exhaust outlets are similar? |

if you are really against buying new extractors when you got to a 1275.... get some big bore LCB's.... other wise... buy the small bore lcb and go the the large bore when you're dropping the s/c or 1275 |

Is it way too difficult to get the engine in with large bore LCB's on? How far back do they go? Where can they be disconnected? |

i don't mean to be picky on my first post, but you probably mean the be all and end all... you are right, however ![]() |

Yeah typo ![]() Can be disconnected from the dump pipe I'm pretty sure, if it is clamped that is. There's quite a fair bit of room to work with... |

Depends where the join is in the system, i remove the extractors and hook it back up once the motor is in. Don't risk damaging the paint as much that way.. Just unbolt them from the head. |
