Hi There, Does anyone know what and where to buy the fresh air ducting that runs from the front of the grill to the drivers side fire wall letting air into the vent and heater in cooper S? |

I think it even split in two to get around the booster? The fitting is there on the side of the usual cooper s heather and holes in the shelf and firewall but not used in Australia AFAIK. I think it’s a difficult size to find. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes, like in the pic below. The ADR relating to windscreen demisting came into being in Jan 1971 and required a large diameter duct to move the air. The VH44 got in the way in the Cooper S so two ducts (one large, one small) were needed. Originals of the plastic adapters at the grille and firewall are very hard to find. If anyone has a set doing nothing I know of a good home in an otherwise original car. Attachment: 1904773.jpg

Here's some pics of the two adapters and the pair of large and small diameter ducting that joins them. If someone has a pair of these adapters and are willing for them to be used to have moulds taken then re-manufacture of a small quantity would be worthwhile, I reckon. Only 112 (or 113) of these cars were made, and of those cars that haven't already gone to god some may still have the original ducting intact, so the production run would not be large - maybe 20 or so? That looks different Matt. Does it have any part number or other markings on it? |
