I'm thinking of getting this kit, looks like it could be useful for tuning the carby.
Has anyone had any experience with it?

Cheers,
Dan

It has to have its own O2 sensor, you can't piggy back off an existing one. There is one used in karts (the carbies are tuned while racing) which has a a range of lights showing how lean or rich you are.

Dick Smith sell a kit which has a digital LED readout (in figures, not just lights coming on) which uses a Bosch llambda sensor. You can find one in the wreckers from a late model car like a Commode. I have the kit but no time to hunt down the sensor :(

I read somewhere recently that trying to do this gives problems. I'll try and find it, maybe it was in the Performance forums.

The llambda sensors should only be used while tuning because continued use will damage it due to the fact that silicon is use in sealing of the engine and this stuffs llambda senors. if u are building a new engine u can buy sealant that is safe to use on cars with permanent llambda sensors.

yeah i would say so or silicon on inlet gaskets. they are so sensitive to silicon at volvo we can't use silicon lube when putting turbo pipes back on. we heat them instead
