I find the best way to fit the half moon is with the front timing plate fitted. But otherwise it looks ok.

I did put the plate on when installing so it should be aligned
Just did;t know whether it should sit flush with face or whether the plate will compress it back when bolted down .

It's a good idea to put some high temp silicon sealant in the corner where the seal and gearbox gasket meet. Also you may have to trim the end of the gasket where it meets the seal. I think not using a bit of sealant is the cause of my oil leak in this area. Next time!

I use Loctite 515 or 518 anaerobic sealant or Permatex equivalent. Had no leaks.
RTV Silicone tends to get into places you don't want it.

Yes their tightened ,your correct, that’s gasket goo. Deceptive isn’t it!?

Thanks Dr , Dad has always used permetex as well . If it ain’t broke ....
