OK Barney's 1293 is not going bad, but he's a bit lean between idle and 3500rpm. From there to 7000 it's all go-go-go.
Cam is a Tighe 104, he has ToyoMini (ie Corolla) 1.46:1 rockers & rimflo valves.
Needles in now are #6. I has CP4s in but the #6 are better up high.
So, all you guys with a Fuzzpack Cooper S, what needles are you running? :P
Greig Malaure says I may have to get the file out. I have some `needle files'..

Haven't quite finished rebuilding my HS4's for my 1275A+ plus.020 but I am putting in BG needles to initial start with as I am told these are the basic COP needles they used.

Karcraft told me it was CP4s they used...??
I know there was some needle confusion at the time....

Vizard suggests #3 or #4.

I think I'll try #3 next, as I have a pair.

Has any body tryed this program I have downloaded it but not sure how accurate it would be it lets you put your mods in and gives you a suggested needle size.

Yeah I have and It worked a treat and Still have not quite found the correct one for my HIF as it still lean down low and lacks the torque. The othere needles all have a richer top end and I do not want it any richer up there.

OK Barney finally got his problem sorted today with the help of GR's fuel/air meter.
His #6 needles in the HS4s were spot on.
It was actually going real rich (reading around 10 or 11) between idle and 3000 rpm, as the 20W/50 oil was restricting the SU pistons from rising.
Drained the oil out, he's running fine now, with NO damping at all... 8)

OK at the risk of sounding like a dick  is a HS4 the same as a 1' 1/2 su or 1" 1/4 :?:
Or is not a SU at all.

Doorlady, an HS4 is an SU, 1-1/2".

Mick, I put the 20W50 in... had to start somewhere. No flats spots now with them empty, so it can stay like that for a while.
