i have been trying to replace my head gaske, i took off the head and the old gasket is a copper one, my motor is a 1275 bored out to 1330, what replacement gasket do i need |

BK450 Payen. It's a black composite one. aka Turbo gasket. Way better than the copper one these days. ![]() |

![]() Steve, Graham Russell has some silver ones (same as minicranks sells) he reckons they are bloody good too. These are not the old cheapo silver ones- these have copper rings in all the water holes, just like the BK450 does. ![]() |

Different manufacturer (in UK too, I think) can't remember who- I had an engine conversion set but sold it to Mike. ![]() |

the silver ones that we do, ar manufactured in south africa, have a bore size of 73.6mm, the Bk450 is the same size but 3 times the price but n a road going motor the silver ones are brilliant. The copper ones onlyhave a bore size of 72.2mm which is a bit touch and go when you start gtting up to decent size bores. its a mtter of personal choice, i love the Bk450 on my race car but all my other motors run a silver one and never had one fail in years of using them.(most of my other road motors are over bored and run 10.5 compression ratios) |
