I have a jammed CV clip. Usually very easy with the puller, but this clip seems to have drifted and is stopping the shaft from being withdrawn. We were talking about CVs which reminded me I had a pair of boots to replace, upon pulling the shaft I found the shaft would drift in and out without moving further, no matter how I pulled. What's the best next step? I feel like I'll be needing a grinder... |

I have had to cut up 2 CVs in the past to save the shaft. Sadly one S shaft was damaged badly there and so I tossed it. I'm running Deluxe shafts now... ![]() |

What is the difference between S and Deluxe shafts? |

S shafts look slightly different. They have a raised shoulder half way down the shaft and were made from slightly different steel, presumably better. http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/27H4775.aspx |

I got it apart tonight. I took the cage to pieces and out she came. The inner collar had moved, allowed the shaft to push through into the cv where the Circlip then jammed. Nevermind. I'll fit a new cv tomorrow and get her back together. |
