I bought a 1275cc engine that came out of a mortis mini 1300 auto and am going to do a rebuild, but the rebuild kits on Minisport there are 2 the 1275 not A+ and the copper s 1275. Is mine an Non A+? |

Engine prefix 12H169H, 12YAAH and 12YEAH are A series Automatic engines (not A+). The casting number at the back of the block is probably 12G 1279 which is the standard 1275 A series Non S casting. |

Is mine an Non A+? That would have been a "dead" mini 1300? If you plan using the auto block in a manual setup, are you aware that some changes to the block are needed? you do need to be a little bit careful - the two different sets they're talking about there aren't really A+ v's A series, it's the size of the crankshaft's conrod journals - A+ used the larger size, however Morris 1300 engines came in both sizes. You need to identify the crankshaft before you order anything. |

Well there you go. I did not know that Morris 1300's came out in a small journal. I knew that the Morris 1100S did. |

I'm only going by the auto 1275 I have in my garage - it has a small journal crank - I don't know if it came from an 1100S or a 1300 my advice is still to identify the crank before ordering anything |

1300 auto blocks were 12YEAH prefix. I've had a couple, both same, with large journal cranks. These came out after the 1100S manuals were obsolete (replaced by Morris 1500 ohc). 1100S auto early motors 12A169H were thin flange and had a small journal crank. |

So Morris 1300s didn't come out in both sizes? I had an original Morris 1300 and it was large journal too. |

@TK, Small journal crank was long gone by the time Morris 1500 manual and 1300 auto cars replaced the 1100S. |

Large journal. Now just to get it measured and crack tested and machined and then start to worry about the bearings you need to buy. |

I wanted to get it up to 1380cc and I know it will need a new crank with a longer through, new pistons due to the larger bore. Do I still need need to get the right journals? |

a standard stroke with oversize pistons can get you to 1380. Remember to offset bore the block. Why do you need a new crank? |
