While doing the tourist thing, I was dragged by the nose hairs to Cockington Green at Canberra's Gold Creek tourist trap precinct.

I spotted this clubman wagon lamenting its sad fate near the cafe. It looks complete and driveable however complete with CB radio. The big awful roof on simply rests on the top of the standard roof and probably saves it from leaves and rain water sitting in the gutter and draining into the doors.

Mick, I'm appalled at your claims that Cockington Green is Canberra's dodgiest tourist trap.
You just need to go across the road to The National Dinosaur Museum to find the real dodgiest tourist trap in Canberra.

Cockington Green comes out way in front by comparison.

Speaking of dodgy, have you tried the National Zoo and Aquarium yet?

Yeah, I was also dragged by my nose hairs to the Dinosaur Museum... The boy was enthralled, I kept myself occupied with the questionnaire they give the kids to complete :P

I haven't done the Zoo nd Aquarium yet, maybe they'll be overlooked!

You have to do the Zoo to complete the trifecta.

The dinosaur museum really is the worst. Have they cleaned the carpet since I was there 4 years ago? (the whole place looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the dinosaurs were alive)

Hmm, that is a challenge...

I didn't notice the carpet, it's better that we're tall enough not to notice some times. The best bit is that a lot of the fossils you see in the museum are for sale in the gift shop as well for not a lot of bucks in many cases.[/quote]

Have you tried nose clippers?

One cool tourist thing to do is the glassworks for a look see or if you're rich enough, book in for a course.
