Yeah, they look stainless - not original methinks! I would love to own that car anyway!

Not worth having if your not going to drive it. Which is why it was probably sold and CTS now have it. Still I'm sure there is someone out there with 50K as they always seem to move them.

So so true.

I posted pictures of cars recently rusting their days away in a paddock, not being driven or enjoyed.

...then you have cars like this that are so perfect you don't dare drive them, probably will spend it's life in a dust-proof car cocoon and carted from show to show on a trailer.

Not sure which is sadder

Don't get me wrong, I'm totally in awe of these concourse restorations, but it just seems a shame that sometimes these cars don't get enjoyed the way they should.

By being driven.

Ah,

No worries as there is always a mini or 2 which isn't concourse or near it and can be driven without too much worry and still worth a bit!

I happen to have a couple in the garage!

I would also be worried to do any mechanical work on a concourse car in case I scratched the paint or something........

Keith did drive it around a bit, this car won the concourse down here in 2008 and then he won it again in 2009 with his other Cooper S. He sold this car to a bloke up there only a year or two ago, not long after it won. He stayed at my house so I keep in touch. I'll have to give him a call to see if he knows its for sale for a lot more than he sold it for.

Me and a couple of guys from work went on a lunchtime excursion to the Thottle shop last Friday and boy are there some nice cars.

That Cooper S is pretty sensational. I certainly couldn't fault it (although I'm no expert)

It looked like it had been assembled 10 minutes before we got there! Every nut, bolt, screw and washer looked brand new.

Spoke to keith, he wasn't aware it is up for sale. He is selling/or has just sold his van that he only just finished. He still has his other S.

Yes, some fantastic cars in the CTS. Great place to spend an afternoon, even if you don't have 50k!

What's the betting that first time you drive this (if you dare), someone in a Tarago rear ends you at the lights?
