Stopped in the main road of Toukley tonight to use an ATM and spotted a blue clubbie parked on the other side. Didn't see anyone near it at first then noticed a guy sitting on a street bench next to it. He pointed at me in my BINI. Wasn't sure what he meant by that but I was in a cheeky mood so I gave him a big wave. To my surprise I got one back. Plate was NSW XWL-470.

Anyone know it? Got a wave from a BINI? Post it here!

Spotted at Green Point this afternoon:

British Racing Green/White roundnose mini (maybe even an S - appeared to have 2 fuel tanks ? - am not very good at telling them apart yet). Saw him chasing me in the rearview mirror so slowed to let him catch me at a roundabout - he overtook on the outside as I hoped he would so I could get a good look. Gave him a wave and got one back - played chasey along The Entrance Road until he flashed and turned off.

Nice looking car. Plate was MJG-555. Anyone know it?

Was driving home the other day down the Majura Rd past the airport in CBR and a red BINI with white stripes waved at me!! I of couse waved back. Definatly a difernt red BINI to the one I ocasionaly see with a very atractive GRL in it who studiosly ignors my franic waving. (might be me & not the car).

Wasn't in the BINI but spotted a yellow clubbie parked at Cooranbong on Thursday afternoon. Plate was ZEE222 and it had a big black dog sitting in it,

Drove to Byron Bay on the weekend, saw a few old school minis. No waves from anyone.

It seems the central coast has the friendliest original mini owners.

Spotted a red clubbie at Tuggerah tonight driven by what looked like a middle aged woman with curly hair.

Got a single finger wave. :D Hope it was the right way around.

i guess the feeling you get when a mini owner treats a bini owner badly
is the same 'oh-they're-just-kids' feeling you have towards children.

proud and light-heartedly shameful all at the same time.

but Poki (sorry didn't get your real name on friday)
I'm proud to know that you can understand where we're coming from and not take it in seriously

this reminds me a little of the Herbie preview i saw at the movies last night. Herbie sees a modern VW and gets all excited, and Lyndsay Lohan says to Herbie "she's too young for you."

- spaceboy - true, a lot of BINIs are driven by women but there is a much higher percentage of males who get involved in the BINI community. I am sure it is the same in the classic community - I dont see many females posting here :D

- 68matic - the name is Kerrie, who were you? Its like the term BINI - a lot of BINI owners have gotten all cut up about some classic owners calling us BINIs. I use the term with affection - whether it is meant as an insult or not. It is only insulting if you let it be.

- Scotty - we will no doubt cross paths at some point. :D In the meantime if you are up for a little cruise there is a bunch of Sydney, Newcastle and Coast BINIs who go for a drive every Sunday. My huuby usually comes along in his Rover. We generally end up somewhere on the coast because it is central :D All ausmini folk are welcome to join us.

- DSMERF - hope you waved back :p There is an electric blue and white (smurf coloured) BINI amongst us with all the black trims painted white. Plates are SMURFN. He has smurfs stuck all over his dashboard too. Very different looking car.
