Post subject:  DaVinci Code Rover and Woody

I saw it near the end when sophie and robert are chatting after the "denumont".

You see, in the car park behind them, a rover mini and as morris woody van.

Looked more like a late 70s BL or 80s Austin Rover to me. Maybe not but it was a brief glimpse, wasn't it?

Although at that time there were no austin rover badges, just said 'Mini' as far as I can recall

I don't think that the blue was used on Rover minis once they started specialising in doing all then special editions and selling them as anachronistic icons rather than bread and butter transport
(don't have hard facts, just anecdotal/personal experience evidence growing up and living in UK until last year)

That colour certainly looked the same as my Mum's mini that she had in the early 80s. (which may be clouding my judgement a bit!)

PS - That part of the movie made me feel all nostalgic for home as I grew up about 15 miles from Roslin, although have never actually been to the Chapel (isn't it always the way? - also up until 2004 I never lived more than 18 miles from Edinburgh Castle my whole life but have never been, yet about 1 million people a year come to visit it from all corners of the globe!!)

Outside the church parked next to woody van was a 1995 model Rover Built Side Walk in Kingfisher Blue which was a metalic paint, the one you see is original car and paint, this model also came out in White Diamond and Charcoal Metallic, correct badging on boot was MINI as seen in Movie

The Tweed grey one featured in Mini Magazine I think the scene was cut from movie, never seen it, usually look closley to English movies for Mini scenes and had known about the feature of this car but never got a sight of it

Hope this information helps those wondering about colour

Wow - that's great and accurate info!

Still, that probably won't stop me contributing uninformed guesswork and supposition in the future

Cheers,

that's cool, I was really taking the piss out of myself for assuming to know stuff, when really i know jack!

PS have you guys looked at http://www.imcdb.org, the Internet Movie Cars Database?

It's admin'd by a few French, Belgian and British guys and lists cars shown in movies and TV shows according to their importance to the film.

It's growing all the time and getting more and more comprehensive. A nice way to while away a few minutes while bored at the office/school/college/uni/etc.
