Spotted this one parked outside my house, looks like it may be a personal import, it also has a Macdonalds Minis sticker in te rear window. Clarke MacDonald taught me much about Minis back home in Edinburgh.
Anyone help?

Yay - I've been spotted!!!

Sorry - did I take up your parking spot? - I was trying to get to the Dendy car park but took the wrong turn and we were running late!! Damn one way streets and dead ends :(

Do you own the VW that we parked behind that had mysteriously moved forward 6 feet while we were at the cinema?

Had my mini on the road for 2 and a half months now, have been regularly checking in the hope that i'd be spotted one day - even to the extent of deliberately taking the mini when we go to certain places (like Newtown) instead of the Mirage.

I am from Edinburgh (well, Linlithgow). Bought the car off eBay 2 years ago (which was a big mistake) from a dodgy mini specialist in Chester, since then it's had a new front end, rear subframe and other repair panels (all done in Portobello at Clarke McDonald's local coachworks) and various other stuff (including a new engine) done by Clarke for the MoT test (which took about a year all told) by which time I was working in London and was due to move to Australia this time last year.

Then drove the car down south and realised that the replacement engine was also goosed (this was about 4 weeks before we were due to leave the UK). So I had to get a new engine built (I jumped the queue at Morspeed!) and got it fitted 2 days before I had to take the car to the shippers for crating up and containering to Sydney.

Then took 3-4 months for shipping and customs and another 6-7 months before we got new doors and a few other things to get it's blue slip!!!!

And after all that work, time and expense, the car still needs bodywork, painting, a new sunroof, new grille and bumpers and has a slightly rusty boot floor!!!

ANYWAY - GREAT TO HAVE BEEN SPOTTED!

Maybe now i'll also break my duck of never seeing another mini on the road when i'm out in mine (mini run a few weeks back excepted). Kind of saw a yellow clubbie on Sunday in Mosman but not so that i could wave or flash.

yep that was my vw, rolled it forwards to our space as people seem unable to park without bashing my car. already had a qoute of $550 for one sods efforts.
Good to see another Scottish bod over here, it was really Clarkes sticker in the rear window that took my eye, havent seen Clarke for about 4 years so good to see he is still going strong.
