or have they just taken the glass out all together and replaced it with perspex or similar to save weight?

the rear quarter looks like its perspex as well...but the door handles would suggest 850 or something. They've either done a clubby flip-front for more room in the bay or they're converted to 850 doors to lose the weight of clubman window mechanisms etc. Not a bad idea, but wouldn;t you just use an 850 shell in the first place if you;re that serious about your racing? :?

It most likely is an 850 or similar shell , looks to have morris tail lights as well , but has a clubby flip front fitted (you can see the fasteners on the guards) for more room or some other reason (maybe they had it already or one of those "hey , I've got the front of a race mini you can have" type offers at the pub) . It's certainly a neat looking car .

Look at the wipers (or should I say wiper), they are not recessed. No it's definitely a pre-68 or whenever shell.

I'd put my money on 850 shell, Clubby flip front.

BTW, I didn't notice that, and I've always wondered what it would look like (an 850 with square front) and it's awesome.

Definitely looks like an 850 shell. Thing is, weren't the early 850's made with a heavier gauge steel than later cars (esp. clubbies)? We had a '62 850 years ago, and it was a tank.. panels went 'clonggg' when you tapped them, rather than 'tink'. Odd choice for a racer if that's the case, it'd be a fair bit heavier..
