Dont think Gerg is back on the road yet. Best pies in Oz...... PITS are good, Robertson are good but there is a few other contenders. I admit they are not as accessible but here goes. Morrells Bakery in Bourke has won national awards for their pies and they are well deserved. Rutherglen Bakery in Victoria has some of the best "out of the ordinary" pies you will ever eat. Kangaroo Pie is fantastic. Pie shop just out of Kempsey, I think, on the Hwy is well woth a stop on your way up north. Large variety of very nice pies. Maybe we should start a thread....."Great Meaty Comestibles" |

The pie shop in the main street (only?) on Inverell is the best and I think I have tried them all. Second is the one in Griffith - but its a long way second. |

Hey Morris , is Bryants pies still going down there ? At least I think that was their name , used to be magic to eat on the way to work at 5 in the morning , the shop was closed but the guy's cooking out the back were happy to sell them for cash ..... |

Yep, Bryants are still going and still selling pies out the back door. Their pies are fairly average but when it is -4° they are great.

back in 1992 they were something special , won awards everywhere and deservedly so . |
