This morning in the ute heading to a job i saw a mini on a trailer aswell as other classics being towed. So i figured GEARS must be having a meet at QLD Raceway. And i was right.
Just so happens that a job was in the general direction of the raceway, so i spent my lunch watching a mini, mgs, a loud as hell jag, a turbo charged E type jag , rovers, bmw, holden, amoungst others.
Mini driver was Dusty Rodes and was doing 1:20 laps. Standard 1275, deluxe shell and twin tanks.
Bloody good Lunch.

Golden Era Auto Racing.
Apparently you can join GEAR Club and participate in track days for a fee.
Only open to cars of a certain age. eg, pre 72? Can be daily driver Gonzo
Very considerate racing, no passing on corners, only on the straights and most passing was done with the leading drivers signal to do so.
So being very keen to participate i started looking for GEAR info but couldnt find anything apart from track dates

Good fun GEARS days - but check who is bringing what - you dont want someone bringing a 7 litre Galaxy and taking all the track ( as happened to me )
