White Clubby with Tassie plates, lady driver coming out of Caltex O'Riordan St Mascot 12.45pm. Wonder if it came by boat to Syd or Melb then then drive.

G'day

Yep thats my mini (and better half driving it).

I picked the car up in Tassie when I was working down there from the Wilson brothers, it was a good buy. Brough it up on the ferry to Sydney. Desparately needs a paint job now it lives closer to the coast, and then NSW rego.

How was she driving? I've been away for work again for a month and have a sneaking suspicion that my gearbox will need an overhall. "Smoothly" is in Gena's driving vocabulary!

Cheers

I thought they'd stopped the SYD - TAS ferry service. Is it back on again?

No mate it's off as far as I know.

Don't do the maths
NSW Rego very high on the priority list.

Think I may have spotted this one a couple of times in the last 3 days around the same area.

Does it have chrome hubcaps (as in proper old-skool ones, not 'hubcaps' as in wheel-trims')?

Think I saw it Friday evening 7-7.15pm-ish on McAvoy St/Euston Rd and turned right into Fountain or Harley Sts.

Then spotted it again at some point on Saturday, can't remember when/where exactly as I was up and down around that area all day.

Has a really throaty sound to it under acceleration (and it was fair going hard when I saw it) :)

Thats probably it I would say. It has the old school polished hubcaps and looks just about stock for a 72 Clubby.

I do like my new exhaust, sounds much better. G is an enthusiastic driver, now some work on being gentle to 36 year old equipment and I'll be happier!
