The Mrs and I were in Sydney for Easter - staying in a hotel in Cleveland Road, Redfern (I think), spotted a brittish racing green roundie on Regent Road. Saw it only for a couple of seconds. Man, you guys drive like there's no tomorrow there. Anyway, saw it for a couple of seconds only - think the roof was white. Cheers |

Man, you're not wrong there. More than one very shady looking dude on most corners ![]() Loved the pub in the next street (Abercrombie street) to where we were staying - deep in Rabitoh territory I suppose - great beer and great food. Really impressed with your city though guys and girls (except Redfern).....why didn't somebody tell me????? Cheers |

Yer.........some of you know, my other 'expensive' hobby is playing the tuba in a brass band. The Oz nationals were being held at the Seymour Centre on the corner of Cleveland Street, just across the road from the uni. Anyway, cut a long story short, the band took over the Y Hotel City South. Looks like a nice place in the brochure and it was - but the area left a bit to be desired. Ah well, had a great time in your city. Lots of good beer etc. Hooroo |

Hooroo A tuba player in Redfern.... ![]() Do you know what happened to the last tuba player in Redfern? He went out for a few drinks and forgot that he had left his tuba on the back seat of his car. When he woke up in the morning he realised his mistake so he rushed out to his car and sure enough there was a broken window and when he looked on the back seat he discovered two tubas. ![]() Hooroo. ![]() |

Don't be so mean about South-West Surry Hills. It's not that bad. Last time I walked through the area (to get to the train station after my mini lost it's clutch), there were only two odd-wierdo guys walking along the street babbling uncontrollably. Normally you see a lot more. And, after getting a train and a taxi home to look up and find a tow truck and then taking the other car back to my stranded mini, all wheels and windows were intact. |
