Not on the roads, but was checking out tips on dropping a BMW S14 lump into my '74 BMW 2002 and came across this.

It was built as a parade car in the US. It is an Austin America (2 door Morris 1100) with the roof cut off and the rolls bonnet and grille added.
It was sold on ebay a couple of years back because the auto gearbox was shot. (forward clutch, about 3 hours to fix including lunch!)
I can't remember how much it went for, I will see if I can find it again.

Back to the merc at the top.....

I think it's not a bad idea, quite cool, but the look would get very annoying after a while I think as the proportions are all wrong, Mini is too skinny for the grille size.

I've got a merc with the same grille, but unfortunately the next generation of headlights (the quad horizontal lights). So no merc conversion for me...
