Last night's Wheeler Dealer episode on Foxtel had an aussie built moke they were doing up. Looked like a californian to me (no expert), but they were saying it should have had a 1000cc engine but had the "big" 1275 from a Metro. Had dodgy front indicators and pommie late model steering wheel, but otherwise looked alright. To fix the suspect suspension, they converted it to coil springs! (that part was interesting though as they filmed the springs being wound and made which I had no idea how they made springs). KB |

I watched it too, why they didn't just by a coil kit was a bit weird, surely it would be cheaper.. |

They claimed that doing the coils was a FIRST. Heaps of people on the moke forum seem to think coil springs are better than donuts.. Sounds like a farce to me. Their hood was a bit lack lustre.. Apparently they took so long the release the episode (it was filmed MONTHS ago) because they ahd to sell it first, and had a lot of trouble palming it off first |
