(not the indicator... the one on the top)

It might be a "blanking plate" to cover up holes where the poms have the wing mirrors fitted.

Tha Japanese are more prolific at fitting fender mirrors to their Minis. I'd guess that is an ex-Jap Mini.

You are probably right, even while I was writing my previous comment I was thinking that the position for a wing mirror was not far enough forward for a pommi car. But I think the Japanese do have them more in that position.

looked at it tonight. it's an 86 model and imported from Japan. seems to be in good nick.

not sold yet.
