I saw a black roundie with white roof presumably a 67 on airport drive today at 2pm and he then turned onto the gateway towards surfers.
Had a really nice exhaust on it.

I saw the thread. Don't worry bout it too much, easy for me to say, it will work out.
As much as you love cruising in Slidey he will come back better than ever. ready for action.

How do i know? well lets say that NAV one day decided to chew out a conrod bearing allowing the piston to hit the head it was that bad. He (NAV) got a stocko re-build to the tune of $2,500 nothing special, even kept the single row timing chain (go on laugh at me for that) this was by a well known mini place in canberra. All he had to do was build it, I pulled it out and put it in.
NAV ate a head gasket within 500km because he didn't do the job properly. I hit the roof and demanded he strip it down and go over it all again at his own expense, which he did.
When i got NAV back I could have been mistaken for thinking i was driving a poorly tuned 850. I gave the timing the once over. Dwell was like 25deg and the timing was so far advanced it was a wonder it even ran and he'd leaned out the carb mixture (the apprentice again). After i'd fixed that mess NAV was a rocket by comparison. And to this day i have never had an issue that wasn't a part of normal maintenence
