No i don't know him, just seen him post on various forums. I do recall a few members having 'problems' with him, but it was many years ago.

So when do we come round and help sand her down and get her on the road?

Hi Joe,

That would be in a few weeks.

The Transalps go in for paint this weekend, on Saturday. Then I have to do some work to JC's mini.

However, I might even start bog and sanding this weekend!

Let me know if you are keen, and thanks for the offer mate!

Cheers,
Tricky

hey tricky i have read through the whole topic and i'm really inspired i have always wanted to do one of these. maybe when i'm finished uni.

I dont know what the deal is with the bodyshops up there I had a friend down here who got his bmw painted in a pretty out there paint job and it was done in 4 weeks.

you should paint it yourself i did mine and it turned out pretty good.(But then again mine was a simple paint scheme)

Can you rub/sand out bits of dust even when it's a metallic colour (before or after clear coat)? Not that we know what colour he is using.

if your really impatient with your colour and you get really obvious bits of sh!t in your base coat then rub them but put a light coat over it or you will get shadow marks... most of the crap comes in the clear when your using a high pressure to slam it on, then use a de nibbing block to lightly rub out all the bits and ittle be good as gold.. 99.9% of people wouldnt notice them anyway judging by some of the paint jobs ive seen..

Hi Tricky,

How goes the cat?

Don't want to pressure you, but did you know this thread has had over 100,000 views over the years from people keeping an eye on your awesome construction.

I hope you continue posting updates as they happen, we look forward to it.
