Oh, and just for a lark, I test fitted the pedal covers I have for El Gato. These pedal covers funningly enough were the first item I ever bought for the Mini after the actual front cut - way back when!! They match the Momo steering wheel that I bought as well:

I like them!!

Cheers,
Tricky

Good lord!

Progress my good man!

Keep up the work Tricky. You are on the home straight now! Good luck with finding heaps of time over the Christmas period.

Hi Forumites,

Just a quick update. Been very hot here of late and I have a list of honey-do's as long as my arm, but I have been spending a wee bit of time in the shed trying to get the bodywork completed. Here is where I am with it all:

Front drivers side quarter - completed and ready for some hi-build primer and then wet sanding ready for paint. Has a coat of etch on it now just to stop the surface rust (what a crap photo, sorry guys):
Image

Rear drivers side quarter - still needs a couple of sessions with the filler and sander before its right. Hopefully by next weekend this corner will be done:

Rear passenger side quarter - completed and ready for some hi-build primer and then wet sanding just like its diagonally opposite corner:

Front passenger side quarter - still needs one or two more goes with the filler and sander but about 80% there:

Roof - ready for a lick of hi-build primer after a quick sand:

Bonnet and boot - done!

Doors - done!

Next week is going to be a big week - Firstly it will be the yearly mega shed clean-up as it looks like shite at the moment and there is mess everywhere. Then I will take the engine out for the last time hopefully and fully strip the car down to its bare shell. Then its finish filling and sanding the bodywork and hopefully get a full coat of hi-build all over the shell and start blocking that down. Its going to be a messy weekend if I get that far as wet sanding is that sort of deal.

At this stage, I am planning on having the shell ready for paint prior to easter and then lay-down the final top coats and clear over the easter break. Still quite a few things to do before that date like the front spoiler and that will take quite a few weekends to get finished.

Cheers,
Tricky
