Good question Simon,

No. I can remove the airbox without removing the brake booster, but I have to loosen it (the brake booster) off the bracket and I can sneak it (the airbox) past.

I can also just half remove it (the airbox), grab an allen key and take off the removeable panel, reach in and unscrew the air filter clamp, and then remove the element. Its a bit of a contortionists trick though. To do this the wheel has to come off.

Its just easier putting it in first.

Cheers,
Tricky

Quick Update....

Not on for sitting on my BFA, I decided to hook in and try and finish the bodywork this weekend, and I gave it a great shake.

All four corners are, for all intensive purposes finished, with only very minor bits to do, like the gutters where I deseamed it and a few other bits. Well when I mean finished, I mean finished with the filler. Without further ado, here are the pics:

Even got the dicky bit at the front done even though it will be hidden by the front spoiler:

Next week I am hoping to have at least one, if not two coats of Hi-build on the car and blocked back - if the weather holds out of course!!

Cheers,
Tricky

We have been without a kitchen since before Christmas, and have been doing what I can in between the rain. Lacquer doesn't like being applied when it's really humid. Just like the hi build it will turn to crap in between coats.
Hopefully the rain holds off

Well its been raining on and off up here for a bit, and since December the shed has been flooded three times!!

I am at the stage now where I am ready to hi-fill the car, and you need good weather for that. Too much moisture in the air and bubbles will form and I will have to start over - a waste of time.

I went to pump up the tyres on MItch's motorbike this morning, and low and behold, the compressor has had a rectal prolapse - which means in for a repair I guess.

I will have a shot at finishing the bodywork this weekend though, still got a small bit to do!!

Cheers,
Tricky

***NEWS***

Even though I haven't posted anything in a while, there are still being some considerable hours being invested on El Gato....

Save to say that the bodywork is all but complete, and its ready for its first coat of hi-build. The small bits and pieces that you find as you go over and over the car are pretty much taken care of now.

Also, an interesting package arrived from the UK today - hmmm, what could that be (and no, its not anything related to Mini's but they will be going on the car)??

Ok, pics will be posted soon, but once the topcoat has started to go down, no more pics - as I want to be a SURPRISE!!!

Cheers,
Tricky
