willy,

Its a PPG white and I am not sure of the name - we just made sure than when we chose it, that it was a 'clean' white - as in not slightly yellow like 'Snow White' or slightly pink like 'Arctic White'. Ashy would know.

Thanks Andy!

Harley, the bracket on the roof is for the roof console, which houses some idiot lights, and my arm/disarm keypad and an interior light. This is it on the bench:

And in situ:

Cheers,
Tricky

Whats that thing weight? It looks heavy, and the support doesn't look like it has bracing.
Did you measure to see if the roof pulls in at all with the weight of all the stuff in there?

Hi Harley,

It weighs in at about 350 grams!!!

The bracket is plenty strong enough for the weight it has to hold up!! The construction is a spruce ply skeleton with resin impregnated cloth as the covering. Its light, very light but very strong and it can support its own weight.

There would be no deformation of the roof, its simply not heavy enough. The components weight virtually nothing as well - some LED warning lights, a timer dimming circuit for the interior light and the LED interior light itself, and the arm/disarm keypad which weighs 3/5ths of 5/8ths of SFA!

Seriously, if it all come in at 0.5kg with wiring and fixings I would be very surprised. Plus, if you take into account that the front of it will be fixed to the windscreen top bar, then the bracket only has to support half the weight!!

Cheers,
Tricky

Cheers,
Tricky

You'll have to forgive my ignorance and memory after 95 pages, for some reason I thought it was fibreglass and bog which would be considerably more than 300-500 grams!

Nah, light as a feather!

I was going to do it out of fiberglass but when the fleece became impregnated, it was amazingly stiff.

The grey you see was one light coat of hi-fill to get it a bit smoother.

G'day Sean,

How are you mate.

Well I think the top coat will be going on if next weekend, when the lads can string together 3 dsays to do it - as its a lot of painting and masking involved.

I have to work in with them of course as its mates rates so I need to be patient.

But, when its done, the Ausmini community will be the first to know.

Cheers and thanks for the interest,
Tricky
