It's different I'll give you that!!

Looks neat - and I agree with what you said - with all the bolt on goodies around for modern engines you should be able to make it get up and go. Nice Work.

Perform as well , very economical and comfortable cruising . I had a 96 charade with a very similar motor for 4 years , after that I had always thought of doing a mini conversion , especially seeing one in miniworld where it fitted neatly into a roundnose .

I'll get back to you in a month or so , I've just bought all my miniworlds out of storage , have you seen the big black boxes with yellow clips on the lids (bigger than a fish tub) that Bunnings sell ? There's one and a half of them full ..... From memory the one in the miniworld was actually a turbo deisel charade motor , not my first choice to use but the motor is the same size ....

Mate I think you have come up with the most sensible conversion for a Mini. I personally don't see any point in fitting engines that are too big and too powerful in a Mini unless you want to race it. Then again we can only do the speed limit on the roads unless we do not need our licences any more. This conversion of yours sounds and looks great and as far as I am concerned 65 HP for a road going Mini is plenty. I don't think you need much of a shoe horn for this conversion and I am sure the Fuel consumption will be something to brag about too. Well done mate. Great Idea, I like it.

cheers convertable mini :D :D :D
should be running in mid may im taking two weeks holidays to finish it all, so I will keep everyone posted on how it drives and how much it does off a tank of fuel

turns out the sirion radiator is to tall for the front, but a huge laser radiator fits with bottom hoses in the wrong spot so ive got to wait til tuesday to try some more radiators from my mates wrecker

"bah" theres plenty of other things to do in the mean time

would work if you can relocate the bottom hose but the tanks are made of plastic :(
they would also work well on a Hot "A" series in a clubby :)

I was looking at it in my clubby a couple of weeks ago (I posted pics). Perfect fit, and oh so easy to mount with the original laser mounts. But I went and saw Linzy at Pistons, and he called me a dick and told me to fix the problem I had, rather than add weight and more places to leak. :) Smart man, I just like to play :)

mmmmm pistons.. I think I might go down there tuesday, made some money from some back yarders this week end... maybe some guages! (or breaks, cv joint, and a few boots) but guages are cool and shiney
