Aluminium has much better thermal conducting properties than stainless!

Have a look on the PWR website, they make cores in all sorts of shapes and sizes, with end tanks to match.

Thats a good point, guess i really have never thought about the material being used. Just tryin to think if the last one we made was Stainless or Ally... come to think of it, it was prob ally... which certainly would draw the heat away a s*load better. Copper better again, but not the cheap option!
You can usually buy the cores at any size you like, basically can buy a big sheet of radiator if ya really wanted to and cut to size. I'm almost certain places like natrad or someone like that would have the core material.... I'll have to ask a few guys to see where the header tanks are readily available - maybe someone else out there knows of good places? In fact theres no reason you couldnt use 2nd hand header tanks if you found the right size...

Or just go to the wreckers and get a 2nd hand radiator from a Honda City van (or similar) like Brad did.

Surely there must be heaps on options out there that would work a treat!
