Ive driven the van with the sirion motor in it (was the brothers) Went fine but its only a 1L 3 cylinder motor.
If you have the subframe and motor from Lachy (sorry about the spelling) heaps was spent on fixing alot of oil leaks ect... So hopefuly you shouldnt have to worry about that, it was only he stupid alternator mount that kept cracking. Hopefuly we sorted that too in the end

only just seen this thread, dont really get on here much anymore :(

but yep, from me Gordo, yea great little thing it was, just sad the clubby shell didn't hold up well. I ended up welding a new bracket to the existing alternater bracket which fixed all that drama. "Tobermary" on here used his skills to fabricate it for me :)

ok so done a little bit more today,

removed a few bits and peices from the engine bay of the moke, and removed the abortion of a loom from the engine bay

Image

The previous owner "Squished" the radiator surround..

Image

installed some sort of custom support for the front facia and custom radiator

Image

more custom bracketry to be removed..

so plenty of work left to do.. but im happy with the rate its going.. next is to pull the moke engine and frame out and install the moke top and bottom arms and suspension into the sirion subframe etc ready to be put in the car and have the sirion engine dropped in

after a little battle with a stubborn subframe, the old engine was removed ready for pictures to be taken and provided to the engineer to compare to the modified subframe

ill continue to strip some more bits and peices off of it tomorrow,

and may even try and fit the modified subframe,

this project will be slow going as we are in the begining of the wet season up here and its more humid than satans steam room, wich doesnt make for fun outdoor work

oh and i put in a big order for some parts from Minispares and Minisport, im looking forward to opening that big box of goodies :)
