Sounds good.

Reason I am looking to "Buy not Build" is that is fastest way to implementation. Like any project there is going to a juggling act between time, cost and quality. With the last car I tried I was very time poor and cost focussed.

So If I want to say bring down the investment of time, price will likely go up and quality will then be a function of cost.

I've built alot of things. New houses, renos, cars, bikes, ikea furniture and I know my limitations. I'm just looking to "manage out" the issues (my inability to manufacture things).

Ah john john john,,, sorry mate but i can`t help you if you don`t at least try to help your self... going heavy as lead means it`s near impossible for me to help you in ay way :-)

if i was a race vehicle personal trainer i may be able to help you shed some weight, but all those bits/parts that you have posted pics of seems to be you`re taking the easy way out

now get back on the treadmill & the rowing machine & rip into it,,, & cut back on the pies... get rid of that excess weight my friend :-)

yeah well, when i put my R1 engine into a mini subframe years ago everyone thought i was mad :-)

& look--> , now everyone wants one :-)

I do have a couple of spare 98/99model R1 engines sitting here in bits if anyones interested, easy to build one good one from the 2 of them

damn good starting point for anyone considering doing this conversion on the cheap, i already have a very late model R1 engine in my buggy now so i`ve no use for these 2 R1 engines,,, they`re seriously just sitting here, taking up space

if (for eg:) someone came over & brought $500 with them ,,, they could take these 2x R1 engines away with them

Now,,, i don`t see anyone getting an R1 engine for anywhere near under $2000, so $500 is the deal of the century :-)

did i mention i have 2x R1 engines sitting here?

:-)

I couldn't help myself. I had to unwrap the motor today just to look at it. Fortunately I did, I found a Power Commander attached to it which I had been looking at buying. Score!

Boy its a neat looking little package. I can't believe how something so light can possess so much awesomeness.

I'm thinking it really won't be that hard to fit. The complexity in this conversion is really just sorting the diff and reverse.

Soooo. The ZX14 was proving difficult with bringing it back in the household goods container (next month!). I've already got my chopper coming back in parts so I didn't need any complictions.

I thought I would list it on ebay. It sold within a day! So it went to its new home today (delivered half way to Chicago, IL).

So I'll be on the hunt for a bike motor back in Aus. Likely the R1 or Honda as they're just as powerful and more compact (and more of them around).

JC
