Absolutely fantastic work, ill be functioning on a few hours sleep tomorrow as i have been sitting up for an extra few hours looking over this build. Really great engineering, i cant begin to explain how impressed i am (bar the wing ;)). I got rid of my mini a year ago (in a Mk1 escort now) but this car and others like it have got me all fired up again!!

Hi Damo,

Yes, went and read him the riot act on Thursday.

He does a lot of resto work, and a couple of MG clients, one in particular, have been screwing him around (as in they pick a paint colour, British Racing Green, they choose from the large selection of BRG colours, metallics, flats, peals etc. Phil does a test sample - all OK. But then when he has sprayed the body the bloke comes back and says, nah, dont like that, can we do it again, heres the cash!!) And this has happened twice!

So, he has promised me that he will be starting The Cat next week for sure - whether the MG boys get their sh!t in one sock or not - so fingers crossed.

Cheers,
Tricky

I've found the hardest part of getting work done on my car is getting the person to actually do it...especially if they're good they typically have a lot of work and try and juggle it best - they almost seem too afraid to turn away work..

Auto Electricians are the worst

Painters take ages too Tricky :(

Absolutely Josh, absolutely!

The bad thing is we swapped trades instead of cash - I have just done about $6,500 worth of electrical upgrade to his factories, with about another $2,000 to go.

And in return I have got jack - well not yet anyway.

Fingers crossed it will happen soon!

Thanks for the concern - oh, and btw, nice dyno figures Josh (you b@stard!)

Cheers,
Tricky

Hi Forumites,

After weeks of constant frustration over the inability of the spray painter/panel beater to start El Gato, I went round there today to see if any progress has been made.

And guess what, none had!!! But.............(yes, there is always a 'but')

He is starting it tomorrow and requested that all the fibreglass bodykits be taken down there for trial fitment and permanent bonding to the car. :D

This may seem to some a small step, but for me its a giant leap forward. So this time next week, I may be able to post some pics of The Cat with some work done to it.

Keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck!!

Cheers,
Tricky

P.S. I am all tingly inside at the prospect of getting The Cat back sometime soon!!!
