Surely that are not that bad & can be re-sleeved? A friend of mine went thru this drama -

Dropped his 9F/Sa/Y for a re-bore & they stuffed one cylinder. Fortunately a check with a ID micrometer was performed before paying. He said - your bad, your responsibility to fix it, which they did with a re-sleeve of all cycls. Maybe not ideal for some, but better than a total loss.

I think I've finally had a forward step :D
I tried to contact the guys that have my van on Tuesday, calling the same numbers I had. This time instead of ringing out it straight up tells me it's disconnected. My heart dropped and my blood began to boil.
So I call the mrs (also the minister or finances) and explain what has happened. (now we wernt together when I started the mini, and has only seen photos of it and might have seen it at one stage when I was still living in Sydney) thankfully she understands the situation and how much I have spent already. Ohh I forgot to mention it's her birthday this weekend and we're booked in to go away for a extra long weekend. So I get her to book me a plane ticket to Sydney for Tuesday afternoon, she then asks what time do you want to come home Wednesday? I said hold off on booking a return ticket, if I can't sort this out I'll have to come back later. The look on her face looked as if I was about to get shived right in the neck with a filed down toothbrush.
Anyways to cut an already long story a little shorter she ended up ok with it. I spoke to the beater Wednesday and have agreed on some points and what work is going to be done and by when.
Should have all panels on and gapped up, with all the mods done and the body kit fitted and in it's first stage of primer, all in 8 weeks
I wasn't happy with the way the last beater filled the side windows in, so I bought the back of a rusted solid sided van and am going to weld some original solid sides back in. So there looks to be some light and the end of the tunnel

Ohh and I am headed back home this afternoon so we can still have our long weekend away, just can't spend as much now as this trip has coated me another small fortune for something I shouldn't have to pay for again

Yep got him number and have spoken to him on it.
And sending the mrs around would probably work, but that said I don't want a pink and purple car

I got a text from the beater yesterday saying "work has commenced" and this picture, which is a great start. At least the car is in the shop and he sounds like he's going to pull his finger out and get cracking

Over the moon indeed! I can't even wait just to have it sitting in my shed or under my car port. Dosnt even have to be finished, finished would be ideal but that is a long long way off
