No I've been advised by my engineer that pre ADR cars as mine is doesn't require a cat or any emissions gear..

Stupid isn't is.
Vic roads says that because I put a 99 mini engine in my car, I need the emissions, brakes and subframes from that car for it to be legal (I did all that anyway).
However, if I get the engine from a whole different car of any year, then I don't need any of that as it goes according to the year of the body of the car.

Id check all this anyway (thats how it is from vicroads publications), but I know that when I've spoken to engineers about engine transplants they want all the enissions gear associated with that engine for it to be allowable. One guy even wanted me to fit inertia reel seatbelts in the back and a collapsable steering column!

Finished my carb manifold off today, here's some pics to show it in greater detail..

Firstly the tube was cut bend and welded and it was the only wAy to get the amount of bend required, here it is after all the welds were smoothed out, also ground a lip into the end by hand to stop the pipes slipping

Also spent. Bit of time porting the inside to make
It run happily, il do a bit more and polisH the inside later on

Here's the inlet flange which was just cut from the original injection inlet manifold, Ive made a flange before too but this is a much easier way to do it

Pretty simple really..

Also fitted the lower control arms to check for Clearance, all good!

Thanks everyone, learning a lot as I go, gotta have a mid build inspection soon so thattle be good to know what exactly needs doing before the big swap! Can't wait to fire the thing up one day

is the angle of the carbs to great to ensure good fuel flow or are bike carbs well different to SU's and the like? (not really sure with bike carbs...)

Bit different, factory installed on the bike they sit at a similar angle to that if not a bit higher, depends on the type of carb too, best way to figure out the angle they work best at is to look at the bike they come off
